I recently finished a project that was a combination of retail furniture and custom furniture. Originally, the client didn't want to go the custom route, because she thought it would be too costly and take too long. These are both common misconceptions, and I was able to show her that in the case of certain pieces she would be much better off going with a bespoke piece than buying off the showroom floor. We ended up having a sofa, television wall unit, swivel chair, coffee table, and storage all custom made, and they turned out beautifully! The effort put into designing the pieces and choosing materials and finishes was well worth it, as they resulted in one-of-a-kind furniture that was EXACTLY what she wanted.

If the piece has any issues (made slightly the wrong size, handles don't quite align, etc.), it will be fixed until it is precisely what was ordered.

This is not something that is usually possible when purchasing a regular sofa. In the latter case, you get what you get and you don't get upset.
